Privacy Policy

Effective September 28, 2026

GroceryMaster keeps track of your grocery receipts, products and spending. The short version: the developer does not collect, see or sell your data. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Where your data is stored

Your receipts, products, prices and categories are stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, they are also stored in your own private iCloud database, which Apple operates under the Apple Privacy Policy. The developer has no access to your iCloud data.

If you share your household library with someone, the people you invite can see it and, depending on the permission you give them, change it. You can stop sharing at any time in Settings.

Camera

GroceryMaster uses the camera to photograph receipts and scan product barcodes. Text on a receipt is recognized on your device.

Optional services you choose to use

These features only run when you use them, and they send only what they need:

• Receipt AI (OpenAI). If you enter your own OpenAI API key and use receipt AI or package research, the receipt photo and its item details, or the product being researched, are sent to OpenAI under your key and your agreement with OpenAI. See the OpenAI Privacy Policy. Your key is stored in your device's Keychain and is never synced or included in backups.
• Product lookup (Open Food Facts). When the app looks up a scanned barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts, a public product database. No personal information is sent.
• Airtable import. If you import from Airtable, the app uses the token you provide to read your own Airtable base. Nothing is written back.

Backups

Backups you export are files you control. They are saved wherever you choose and are not sent anywhere by the app.

Deleting your data

You can delete your grocery data in Settings. Deleting the app removes the data stored on the device. To remove your data from iCloud, use Reset iCloud Data in GroceryMaster's Settings.

Children

GroceryMaster is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
